Adidas Sneaker Promo Weds Beautiful Art & State Pride
The sportswear maker had female artists create, on sneakers, one-of-a-kind designs that represent each of the 50 states.
Shirts that celebrate individual U.S. states are commonplace. Now Adidas is going a step further by extending the local pride to footwear.
Adidas teamed up with Refinery29 to enlist talented female artists to create one-of-a-kind designs on sneakers that evoke the spirit and character of each state. The concept was to have the cultures and landscapes of America’s diverse states inform the artwork on each shoe.
For a canvas, the artists had Adidas’ UltraBOOST X trainers. All 50 states got their own shoe design in the unique “BOOST The Nation” collection, which is reportedly being auctioned off for charity.
Below, we feature our five – completely subjective – favorite sneaker designs. To check out the whole collection, and get a more details about the project and the awesome artists, head here.
