SanMar Names New CFO
Top 40 supplier SanMar (asi/84863) announced Monday that Paul Whyatt has joined the Issaquah, WA-based company as chief financial officer. Whyatt’s arrival is in preparation for the planned end-of-year retirement of Marty Rask, SanMar’s vice president of finance.
With more than 20 years of senior finance and operations experience, Whyatt joins SanMar from Merrill and Ring Forest Products, a large family-owned forestry company where he served as CFO. SanMar said Whyatt’s career was primarily spent at Weyerhaeuser Corporation, while noting that he also managed finance and operations for a couple Seattle-area startups.
“Paul’s deep experience in strategic finance and planning will be an asset to our team,” said Jeremy Lott, president of SanMar. “He has the right mix of business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to help drive our evolution as a family-owned company nearing our 50-year mark.”
Whyatt said he is excited to be joining SanMar. “The SanMar family values really stood out to me as something special about the company,” he said. “SanMar is a unique company with a great history and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its future.”
With estimated 2016 North American promotional product revenue of $819 million, SanMar ranks second on Counselor’s 2017 list of the largest suppliers in the advertising specialty industry.
