Hanesbrands Appoints New CFO

An experienced financial executive will soon take over as chief financial officer at Hanesbrands (asi/59528). The Winston-Salem, NC-based apparel maker recently announced that it has appointed Barry A. Hytinen as CFO.

Effective October 16, the 42-year-old Hytinen will take over for CFO Richard D. Moss, who announced in April that he would be retiring by year’s end. Moss, who will continue as an advisor until retirement, was with Hanes for 12 years.

Executives at Hanesbrands are excited to be bringing Hytinen aboard.

“Barry is a talented and accomplished finance officer and corporate strategist who brings a honed skill set that matches the needs of our expanding global enterprise,” said Hanes CEO Gerald W. Evans Jr. “Barry has significant experience in domestic and international acquisitions, global tax and supply chain structure, margin enhancement and cash generation.”

Hytinen joins Hanes from Tempur Sealy International, a publicly traded global bedding manufacturer, where he was chief financial officer. Before joining Tempur Sealy, Hytinen was chief financial officer of Fogbreak Software, a venture-backed software company.

Through his nearly 20 years in finance, Hytinen has had oversight of mergers and acquisitions, capital structure, global strategy and tax structure, corporate development and investor relations. “Barry has significant experience in domestic and international acquisitions, global tax and supply chain structure, margin enhancement and cash generation,” said Evans.
