S&S Activewear To Open New Texas Distribution Center

Top 40 supplier S&S Activewear (asi/84358) is expanding its national footprint with a new state-of-the-art facility in Fort Worth, TX. Once the 493,000 square foot distribution center opens, the apparel supplier will operate more than 2.2 million total square feet across the country. The facility is expected to open during the fourth quarter of 2017. It will reportedly add 300 new Texas jobs to S&S’s growing team.

“The new facility will give us expanded one-day coverage into the greater part of Texas, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Austin,” Frank Myers, S&S’s chief operating officer, said in a statement. “It will also cover all of Oklahoma, Northern Louisiana and select cities in Arkansas, including Little Rock.”

By continuing to increase its geographic presence, S&S says it is better able to serve customers in each region of the country. The Fort Worth location will feature S&S’s proprietary distribution facility technology, which the company says has been one of the key factors in its success.

According to Myers, the Fort Worth facility signals a big step forward in S&S’s national growth strategy. “We are continuing our rapid expansion to meet the growing demands of our loyal customer base,” he said. “Our aim is to provide customers across the country with what they need, when they need it – the widest and deepest inventory, pulled with the best accuracy, and delivered in the shortest transit times.”

Privately owned, S&S Activewear has more than 1,000 employees and five distribution centers nationwide. With reported 2015 North American promotional product revenue of $226.8 million, S&S ranked 7th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
