Overture Opens New Warehouse

Top 40 distributor Overture Promotions (asi/288473) announced Wednesday that it has opened a new facility with more than 50,000 square feet of warehouse space in suburban Chicago. The facility more than doubles the Vernon Hills, IL-based distributor’s previous warehouse space, letting Overture be more nimble and faster to market, company principles said.

Tej Shah, VP of marketing & e-commerce, said Overture needs the second facility to meet the demands of significant growth over the last five years, during which time the distributorship has increased revenue by 74%. With three recent client acquisitions that Overture expects will total more than $10 million in revenue annually, the distributorship will also need the warehouse space to accommodate future growth, Shah told Counselor.

“We’re excited about what the future holds. We have a few recent wins, a lot of great clients in the pipeline, and a very aggressive e-commerce growth strategy over the next five years,” Heather Sanderson, CEO and founder of Overture, told Counselor.

Overture, which is hiring in all departments, will use the new warehouse space for both enterprise-level fulfillment and managing inventory programs. The company is leasing the facility, and has an option to acquire 200,000-square-feet in three years, should the additional room be needed. “To increase our efficiencies, we’ve invested a lot in technology and operational improvements over the last of couple years, but all the credit for our growth goes to our extremely dedicated and passionate staff,” said Shah. “The last 16 years have a been a fun ride, and we’re ready to really shake up the industry over the next several years.”

With reported 2016 North American promotional product revenue of $43 million, Overture ranked 38th on Counselor’s 2017 list of the Top 40 largest distributors in the industry by revenue.
