New Twitter Marketing Service Aimed at Busy Professionals, Small Businesses
Twitter users keen to get more reach from their tweets might be in luck.
The social media platform is testing a new subscription service that automatically promotes a user’s tweets, helping to increase the number of eyes on the promoted posts and potentially growing the user’s following.
Aimed at individuals and small businesses that don’t have the time or expertise to run their own Twitter advertising initiatives, the service enables users to have their tweets promoted without having to create ads or manage campaigns.
Instead, users tweet as they normally would, and Twitter automatically promotes some of the posts – a convenience busy promotional product professionals, especially those in sales, could possibly benefit from.
Users of the new service will receive a biweekly report that details follower and engagement growth they might gain by being part of the program.
Currently, the service is in a “beta” phase, and is only open to invited Twitter accounts. The program is free for 30 days, after which time Twitter will levy a charge of $99 per month.
News of Twitter’s automatic tweet promotion service comes at a time when the company is trying to find new ways to beef-up atrophying advertising revenue. Twitter recently announced in its quarterly earnings report that advertising revenue fell by 8% year-over-year.
