Louis Vuitton Releases Luxury Smartwatch

In the market for a new smartwatch? Well, if you have around $3,000 dollars to spare, you can get the latest from Louis Vuitton, the Tambour Horizon.

Louis Vuitton Releases Luxury Smartwatch

The luxury brand’s smartwatch was produced with a little assistance from Silicon Valley friends, Google and Qualcomm. This Andriod 2.0 tech allows for the classic functions of checking email and getting text and call notifications. In addition to being sleek arm-candy for techies and fashionistas alike, the Tambour Horizon also has unique features tailored to world travelers.

The touchscreen watch boasts exclusive access to digital app versions of LV’s city guides. Louis Vuitton started releasing city guidebooks and how-to videos on subjects like the art of packing as part of its “Art of Travel” campaign in 2012, drawing inspiration from its popular branded luggage. Continuing this theme, the Horizon allows you to store up-to-the-minute travel and airline information, and the digitized city guides provide geolocation services, enabling you to search for nearby recommendations.

Naturally, the smartwatch is customizable with 60 band options, including, of course, the infamous LV monogram look. Starting price is $2,450 for the gray and brown, or you can further splurge on the black version, which ups the price to $2,900.
