Obituary: James Mitchell, BIC Graphic

James Mitchell, Alberta regional account manager at BIC Graphic (asi/40480), passed away on August 13 after a lengthy illness. He was 65.

Born in Winnipeg, Mitchell was an avid hunter, fisherman and athlete. As a high school student in Victoria, BC, he played field hockey and enlisted in the Canadian Militia. He married his wife Joanne in 1972.

Mitchell worked in promotional sales for Shell Canada and also owned a Mr. Tube Steak franchise before returning to promotional products as a regional account manager for BIC Graphic.

He is survived by his wife Joanne; children Diana (Marcus) Guedo, Barbara (Wes) Desta, David (Marian) Mitchell, Gavin (Melinda) Mitchell; six grandchildren; one grand-dog; sister Trudy; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Funeral services will be held at the Fish Creek location of McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, 14441 Bannister Rd. S.E., Calgary, AB, on Saturday, August 26 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
