Obituary: Burl Cohen, Penn Emblem

Burl Cohen, former regional sales manager at Penn Emblem Company (asi/77120), has passed away.

Cohen initially worked at Penn Emblem Company from 1990 to 2000. He undertook a second tenure with the Philadelphia-based supplier from 2013 to 2015.

During his time with Penn Emblem, Cohen covered Australasia and New Zealand. A veteran in the textile services industry, Cohen had more than 40 years of experience as an operator and supplier.

“Burl managed all of Penn Emblem’s international business in Australia and New Zealand. He brought Penn Emblem Company’s relationships and products to these areas of the world and was always successful in growing the business due to his hard work and dedication,” said Randi Blumenthal-Joseph, Penn Emblem Company’s president and owner.

A much-loved and respected colleague, Cohen was remembered by his co-workers as being “larger than life” and “always owning whatever room he walked into.” According to Penn Emblem, Cohen remained ever eager to share his knowledge and expertise with his customers and colleagues. “He worked hard to ensure that his customers were his priority,” said Blumenthal-Joseph. “We are proud to have had him as part of the team and we remember him fondly.”
