Bay State Specialty Acquires Americanna Line
Supplier Bay State Specialty (asi/38980) has acquired fellow Massachusetts-based firm Americanna Promotional Products (asi/35730), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the deal, made public on Monday, were not disclosed. Going forward, the Americanna Line will continue to operate under its own name, but as a division of Bay State.
“We have been friendly competitors with Americanna for years and have always had a keen interest in the well-run company. We jumped at the opportunity when presented to us,” said Michael Moore, president of Bay State. “We are excited to be able to continue the family business tradition of Americanna with this acquisition.”
According to Moore, all of Americanna’s employees are being retained. In the immediate future, Americanna will continue to operate from its Plymouth, MA, location. The supplier expects distributors to see no disruption in service. Eventually, Americanna’s corporate offices, manufacturing and shipping operations, including all employees, will move to Bay State’s Lakeville facility.
Americanna – a 30-year-old, family-owned company – specializes in rubber, vinyl, recycled, and cork products. Founded in 1954, Bay State offers healthcare and houseware items, along with tools, electronics, writing instruments, and more. “As a family-run business of more than 60 years ourselves, we are thrilled that our family continues to grow,” Moore said.
