Obituary: Lowell Lumpkin, Ennis

Lowell Lumpkin, an industry sales veteran with Ennis Inc. (asi/52493), died suddenly on Christmas Day. He was 73 years old.

Well-known in the print industry, Lumpkin spent nearly 50 years in the forms design field. After Ennis acquired Crabar/GBF in 2004, Lumpkin served as a sales manager in the Midwest for the Midlothian, TX-headquartered supplier.

“Lowell was one of the most knowledgeable forms industry experts I’ve known,” said Terry Pennington, vice president of sales at Ennis. “He could tell you the best type of equipment. If it was uncommon, he immediately knew the small list of manufacturers that could produce it. His knowledge, hard work and friendship were unique and he will be missed.”

Outside of work, Lumpkin enjoyed tending beef cattle on the family farm. A family man, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joan Brady Lumpkin, daughter Colette Moorman, son Jon Lumpkin, sisters Coleen and Sherry, and other relatives, including nephews, nieces, two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. His first grandson, Hadley, is expected in March.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
