Disney Recalls Mickey Mouse Nightlights

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S., in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has voluntarily recalled about 3,000 Happy Holidays! Mickey Mouse Nightlights. The items, the CPSC said, pose a fire hazard as liquid from them can leak onto electrical outlets. Disney Parks has received two reports of incidents, including one electrical fire, although no injuries have been reported. No ASI-listed suppliers were involved in the recall.

Made in China, the nightlights were sold at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL, Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app and online at DisneyStore.com from July 2016 through November 2016 for about $15 each. They were imported by Disney Destinations LLC.

The Happy Holidays! Mickey Mouse Nightlight has a Mickey Mouse face and red and white Santa hat filled with liquid and glitter. The date code FAC # 019808-16150 is printed on the bottom rear of the nightlight and the UPC code 400009489637 is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the packaging.

The CPSC is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled nightlights and contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. at (844) 722-1444 or online at www.disneyparks.com for instructions on returning them for a full refund.
