Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant Acquires PLEG
New York-based Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant (asi/44900) has acquired California-based Private Label Executive Gifts Inc. (PLEG) (formerly asi/79653), the companies have announced. PLEG will now operate under the Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant name and ASI number. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We are very excited to announce the acquisition of Private Label,” said Lance Stier, a principal of Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant. “The acquisition helps expand our promotional food business, adds a number of very exciting new customer relationships, further grows some of our existing customer relationships and broadens our selection of products, including a great assortment of additional Jelly Belly items for our distributor customers.”
As part of the acquisition, former PLEG employee Tiffany Truong will initially serve as the contact on PLEG-related orders to facilitate the transition. She’ll also take on the role of supporting Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant’s West Coast sales reps, Daniel Sachs and Dawn Kovar. “Tiffany will be working arm-in-arm with our West Coast reps, and this will allow us to keep Chocolate Inn phone lines open until 4 p.m. Pacific time to further service our clientele,” said Nick Caputi, marketing coordinator at Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant.
The purchase of PLEG marks the fifth acquisition Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant has made in the promotional food gifts category. PLEG is known for its Jelly Belly-branded items, mint tins and shaped mint products.
The PLEG acquisition is the second deal Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant has completed since the start of 2017. In January, the firm announced the purchase of AmuseMints, a supplier of mint tins to the promo market and souvenir industry. In a release, Chocolate Inn/Taylor & Grant said both AmuseMints and PLEG products are now available on its website at www.chocolateinn.com.
