The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall for flip tumblers from teaware retailer Teavana. The drinkware, designed to be used for steeping hot tea, can leak, posing a burn hazard. Teavana has received 12 reports of leakage, including one that resulted in an abdominal burn injury.

The 14-oz. tumblers, made in China and imported by Starbucks Corporation in Seattle, have a clear plastic cap and screw-on welded black base. Sold in silver and black, they measure about 10” tall and 3” in diameter, and feature the word “Teavana” printed on the side. No ASI-listed companies were named in the recall.

Approximately 23,600 tumblers were sold in the U.S. and 1,600 in Canada between October 2016 and February 2017 for about $40. The CPSC states that consumers should stop using the drinkware immediately and return it to a Teavana store location, with the exception of the Columbia Mall location in Columbia, MD, and the Dallas Fort-Worth Airport in Texas.
