The iconic fashion designer Reem Acra debuted her sexiest collection at New York Fashion Week. Her inspiration for fall was the femme fatale. There were 1930s silhouettes with a lot of sheer panels and peeks of skin. Acra took the fringe trend that was popular in streetwear and gave it a luxury upgrade. The exaggerated long silky fringe found on her gowns moved like a draped fabric, but gave a dramatic effect when the model walked.

Re-embroidered lace was another key detail for fall 2016. Designer Acra used lace to highlight areas of the body in a sensual way. The lace inserts were further embellished with beading, and crystals added extra glamour to each detail. Metallic fabrics and sparkling embroidery were used to illustrate curves along the body.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to show skin and go sexy. The key to avoiding a design that looks cheap is to be strategic in your sheer panel placements. Skin can be hinted at by using extra layers of net or flesh-colored lining. Embellishing your lace trims gives them an extra layer of elegance.
