Denim

It’s not uncommon to hear the entire cultural output of the U.S. reduced to a few bullet points: rock and roll, Hollywood, cowboys and – always – blue jeans. Denim predates the introduction of dungarees by a few centuries, but it’s only after Levi Strauss received his patent in 1873 that denim became inextricably woven into the American identity.
