Virginia Shop Targets Summer Camps
Virginia custom apparel shop, All Star Sports, had its eyes on the summer camp crowd this spring, offering a sale on T-shirts to help organizations outfit their campers affordably. “Summer programs make a world of difference in children’s lives, and we, as an organization, value the work they do,”says Brian Dull, president of All Star Sports. The decorator first offered the camp sale last year, but Dull says it wasn’t very successful because All Star didn’t start promoting it until May when most summer camps have already chosen an apparel provider. This year, Dull pushed the promotion up a month to cast a wider net.
Family-owned All Star Sports already supplies garments for a multitude of vacation bible school programs for local churches. The shop has also worked on custom shirts for summer Boy Scout trips, school field trips and sport club summer camps. Offering a limited-time 25% discount on T-shirts isn’t the only way All Star Sports has helped out youth programs. The shop sponsors and supplies shirts for charity events, like an annual golf tournament held by Prince William Soccer to help raise money for children who cannot afford to play, Dull says. Virginia Youth Sports holds a similar event to raise funds for the Junior Olympics jump rope team, which All Star has helped out with, he adds.
