While hoodies commonly evoke casual college and tourism applications, the right choice can also be a perfect fit for a wide variety of promotions. For instance, when an end-user recently needed a unique product for an awards program, they worked with a distributor and decided to invest in high-end branded apparel at a competitive price point. Nucom/Burk’s Bay (asi/74600) was called upon to supply the soft goods: the ladies’ version of the company’s Synthetic Leather Hoodie (S0010), which features a water-resistant shell, quilted lining and hood layer. “They used the jacket as an award in a lottery centered on the Betty Boop brand,” says Jonathan Walther, marketing manager at Nucom/Burk’s Bay. “We embroidered the Betty Boop logo on the left chest.”
The distributor client has worked with Nucom/Burk’s Bay before on large-scale apparel projects. “They understand the value of a high-end jacket or hoodie award,” says Walther. “This particular item has a look that’s hot at retail and represented a great value to the client.” The end-user distributed 900 branded jackets as a prize for winners in the multi-million dollar lottery program.
When looking for ideal items for awards programs, hoodies are an excellent option. “Quality, decorated wearables offer a high perceived value,” says Walther. “In this case, we partnered with our distributor client to create retail appeal at an affordable price.” In addition to awards programs, consider incentives, uniforms and year-end gifting.
