Cookies & Candy

ASI’s most recent Corporate Gift Spending Survey proves that quality food continues to be a surefire way to thank those special clients and employees. The popularity of items such as food baskets rose almost nine percentage points from the previous year to account for more than 27% of all gifts companies planned to send in 2014. That’s something that’s definitely worth chewing over.

CASE STUDY

Smart Snacking

When Tonia Ho, vice president of marketing for Brandinc US Inc. (asi/145212), needed a versatile item for a client’s ongoing wellness promotion, she found a tasty solution.

The newly introduced stand-up pouch (#SCOSUP35) from SnugZ/USA (asi/88060) is notable both for its re-usability and the variety of delicious food fills available. “We’ve used it for a construction company,” says Ho. “They focus on healthy snacks, so we’ve done fills such as almonds and are now working on a trail mix in the same pouch.” The client’s wellness theme changes monthly and Ho can complement the theme by choosing an appropriate fill for the pouch – trail mix and granola for an upcoming cholesterol theme, for example.

“The pouch is key,” says Ho, “because it holds a generous amount and is resealable.” Which means her client’s employees, who often spend their days on job sites, can eat a little at a time while having their company’s message of sensible snacking reinforced constantly.

While Ho doesn’t always include a food gift as part of her promotion, she often adds food to an existing promotion her client is running. “They give away tickets for sports events,” she says, “and they will order these pouches in addition so they can pass them out at the events.” Amounts can vary from 250 pieces for an in-house wellness event up to 1,000 pieces for orders destined for a trade show or tied to parallel promotions.

“It’s been great for this client’s wellness program,” Ho says. “With this product, people feel they’ve gotten something substantial and are still able to put it away and use it again.”
