Here’s an example of how one good promotion leads to another: After working with KTI (asi/63776) to design a custom USB drive for a Finnish manufacturer of cranes, Canadian distributor Bring Your Own Brand Inc. received a request for another equally meticulous USB drive. This new client was so impressed with the detail of the initial product that he wanted a crane from his own division of the same company turned into a USB drive, too.
Bring Your Own Brand Inc. founder and director Brad McBurney again worked with KTI. The end-buyers’ CAD drawings were used to produce a model of a vertical cask transporter (VCT), a type of equipment often used to move containers of nuclear waste. This might be an esoteric piece of equipment to the layman, but for McBurney’s client, the transporter was his bread-and-butter. Detailed replication was a must. “He was delighted,” says McBurney of the finished product. “It was a complicated design, but he saw the pre-production sample and loved it.”
Repeat business is the reward for offering a great product combined with great service. “The VCT probably would never have been created if the first promotion hadn’t been so successful,” says McBurney. Manufacturing clients are often accustomed to extreme specificity in their own business, and they expect the same from their vendors. Both Bring Your Own Brand Inc. and KTI gave this promotion that same level of attention. The results? A happy customer and a very unique product.
